Second, introduce yourself in the forums.
Third, if you have a CodePlex account, let us know and we will add you to the team over at our CodePlex site. If you don't have one, then create one, so that you can work with the issue tracker.
The administrators have suspended automatically giving people write access to the main repository. The administrators will review write access requests on a per case basis. Please submit at least one patch before requesting write access to the repository. There is a FAQ on patching in the Patches Forum. Feel free to practice on svn://svn.wheelmud.net/WheelMUDTest This repository is open to everybody.
You can request write access to the main repository, by sending an email to svnrequest@wheelmud.net with your desired user name and password.
I see a bug, where do I report it so that it gets sqashed?
We prefer that you post a work item in CodePlex's issue tracker at http://www.codeplex.com/wheelmud
However, the forums is good enough for us as well.
I have a cool idea for a side project for the WheelMUD server. Where do I put this?
The project hosting software that we were using was discontinued. We have a few suggestions:
Host it with the various open source hosting websites
Those have a variety of services for developers. Once you have the project settled, then let us know in the forums. We will be happy to link to it from our website.
The option is to host the source code for you. We have our own Subversion, Web, and Mail servers. Please send an email to fastalanasa@wheelmud.net to arrage this.
But, I don't really want to code. Can I still contribute?
Yes! Just hang out at the forums and help us create a community here. There's plenty of other things that we need help with. Testing and creating documentation is always welcome. Also just telling us that something is broken is greatly appreciated as well.
