Welcome!Minimize

Welcome to the new home for WheelMUD, as before we continue to be a project dedicated to the creation of a Windows based MUD server built using .net framework 2.0 and C#.

We will be migrating the various modules from the old site over the next few weeks, but until we do you can still find all of our information on our old site here: http://vb.wheelmud.net

We hope you like the look of the new site :)

Well, looks like we are well on our way towards WheelMUD 0.3. Foxedup and I have already closed 2 items in the issue tracker. You can see what we have planned for this release here:

Please go use the same link to vote for the items that you would like to be worked on.

I finally got the source zipped up and uploaded to CodePlex.

Please post in the Setup forum, if you have problems getting the source running.

WheelForge is back!

By Fastalanasa   244 Views  1 CommentsArticle Rating

I was finally able to get SharpForge to work on my server. The latest version of this software is sweet! I'm still tweaking the look and feel of that, but at least the correct logo is showing up now.

You can get to it by navigating to:

http://www.wheelforge.net

I'm hoping to see things like:

  • Other-MUD to WheelMUD area converters
  • Rulesets
  • Simple SMTP server for WheelMUD
  • Simple FTP server for WheelMUD

Back Home

Just a quick announcement to let people know that the source code has been moved back to wheelmud.net away from Codeplex. They have a great system over there, but unfortunately they are geared to use TFS as their source control system rather than Subversion. They do provide some bridging software but it was causing us untold grief. We were spending a fair amount of time trying to debug why we couldn't commit changes when we should really have been writing WM code.

So we saw sense and have moved the repository back here.

Code is available at svn://svn.wheelmud.net/WheelMUDSharp/trunk

Development is moving along

By Fastalanasa   332 Views  0 CommentsArticle Rating

Just wanted to let people know that the new WheelMUD code is moving along very well. There's a lot of activity over at the CodePlex site for WheelMUD. The rooms and mobs are now loading. There's a rudimentary mob AI as well. The infrastructure for remote administration is laid out, and ready for the next phase.

The only problem we seem to have is with CodePlex itself. We are using the SvnBridge application to connect with their source control using Subversion tools. I've had to patch SvnBridge several times in order to be able to do normal svn activities. It has been quite frustrating, but at least I have access to SvnBridge's code, so that I can patch it whenever something falls on its face.

All in all, I'm very pleased about where WheelMUD is headed.
