Time to get the project management kicked off.  The following is what I think needs to happen:

1) Creation of a forum for team members only to arrange meetings, share prive email addresses,  etc.

2) A weekly web/VoIP conference.  Probably use DimDim since it's free, but if it's not working right we can try DimDim Pro, WebEx, GoToMeeting, or LiveMeeting.  Whatever the choice, we will be able to talk for free (I might have to be a monthly fee, but that's ok), share screens, use whiteboards, etc.  If you don't have an internet connection at home or something else that will interfere in this let me know.

3) Because we are an international project group, we need to find the right time for a weekly meeting.  This will likely have to be on a non-working day.  It would probably be late Sat/Sun UK time, which is mid-day'ish US time.  Let me know what times don't work for you and we'll eventually get to a good time for everyone.

4) Once we have a meeting arranged, I will start preparing weekly agenda's, project Gantt charts, etc.

I'll kick this off with my availability. I can do any day after 8pm GMT. That is 3pm Eastern (New York) and 12pm (California). Midnight here is still only 4pm in California, which is why I think weekends will likely work best. I have a 16MB connection, so VoIP and screen sharing is no problem. I also have a headset.

Alincor, I don't mind text based interactions, but voice stuff is pretty hard for me. I have nerve damage in my auditory nerves, so I don't hear very well. I usually have to rely on reading lips when in person.

DimDim looks like a very useful tool. I didn't even know it existed. What we could do is create a DimDim session, while also having an IM session for those like me that can't understand voice communications all that well.

I'm going to create a private forum for us right now. I'll add all the people that are contributing.

No need for IM.  DimDim has chat built into it as well.

Ah ok. That works for me.

This could be interesting. I had been reluctant to set up my IM information as I wasn't sure which account I would set up to use at work, and I apply a very serious division between work and side projects, especially when something like open source is involved :) I'm not seeing a private forum, but ya I can put my info in when it's there and working. Sundays work best for me. It is GMT -08:00 here for me, Shabubu, and Ashon. I'm on a modest DSL connection though. Once a week might also be excessive, as I think most of us aren't making significant enough progress per week due to holding jobs and such, but having a means to know what people are working on would be good so we don't stomp on each others' progress. To my knowledge, that hasn't happened yet, so perhaps we're doing a good enough job communicating our tasks on the forums?

You should be able to see it. It's called "Project Management." It is in the WheelMUD group. Should be the last one in that group.

Even once a month is good.  There is a lot of value to team meetings, even if everyone works well in isolation.  Especially if someone want to walk others through something on their screen.  If there's no agenda then it's pointless to have a meeting though.  I won't have meetings just for the sake of it.

I see the forum now; I was logged out.

How is the first sunday of each month, for a tentative schedule? Ya we can have an agenda thread started a few days before a meeting to build the agenda items, while reminding people the meeting is coming up, and people can post if they'll be able to attend.
