RE: Getting Involved by Fastalanasa
Welcome!Minimize

Welcome to the new home for WheelMUD, as before we continue to be a project dedicated to the creation of a Windows based MUD server built using .net framework 2.0 and C#.

We will be migrating the various modules from the old site over the next few weeks, but until we do you can still find all of our information on our old site here: http://vb.wheelmud.net

We hope you like the look of the new site :)

Passwords for new registrations are fine

Forgot to mention that the passwords for new registrations work just fine.

Passwords are NOT working

By Fastalanasa   13 Views  0 Comments

It seems that a LOT of you are not reading what I wrote about the database corruption. Passwords to this site got damaged. I have to reset them manually. You need to email me at fastalanasa AT wheelmud DOT net and request a new/temporary password. There's no other way around it. The password retrieval facilities of this site won't help either. The same applies to those that have locked out accounts. Just contact me, and save yourself a hair pulling session.

WheelMUD's repository is now working correcty

By Fastalanasa   25 Views  0 Comments

No really. It's for real this time.

I created the Windows service to run the custom svnserve.exe server, but I forgot to start the service. D'OH. Anyways, I just tested it, and it's working correctly now.

Forums are back up

Apparently, the forums were down and I didn't even know it. D'OH I got a tip earlier today by email about them. I just fixed them, and they are back up.

Build server is now up

By Fastalanasa   25 Views  0 Comments

I got our CruiseControl.NET server back up. I went ahead and upgraded it to 1.4.0.3400, the latest stable build.

Subversion repository is now working again

By Fastalanasa   34 Views  0 Comments

Our Subversion repository is now back up. I'm still working on CCNET and WheelForge.

Some other resources are still down

By Fastalanasa   37 Views  0 Comments

Here's a list of what is still down from the move:

  • Build server - CCNET
  • Subversion
  • WheelForge

I also noticed that we lost some logins. I'll try to get these systems up ASAP. For those that lost their logins, please go ahead and recreate them.

Database Corruption

By Fastalanasa   40 Views  0 Comments

We had database corruption on some of the ASP.NET Membership provider tables. This means that there will be a lot of you whose password will not work. Please email me at fastalansa AT wheelmud DOT net to get a new temporary password.

I had to restore the database from an older backup. That's why we lost some annoucements and blog posts. Other than that, the site appears to be working fine.

We've started work on WheelMUD 0.3

By Fastalanasa   74 Views  0 Comments

Well, looks like we are well on our way towards WheelMUD 0.3. Foxedup and I have already closed 2 items in the issue tracker. You can see what we have planned for this release here:

http://www.codeplex.com/wheelmud/WorkItem/AdvancedList.aspx

Please go use the same link to vote for the items that you would like to be worked on.

WheelMUD 0.2 is out!

I finally got the source zipped up and uploaded to CodePlex.

Please post in the Setup forum, if you have problems getting the source running.

WheelForge is back!

By Fastalanasa   117 Views  1 Comments

I was finally able to get SharpForge to work on my server. The latest version of this software is sweet! I'm still tweaking the look and feel of that, but at least the correct logo is showing up now.

You can get to it by navigating to:

http://www.wheelforge.net

I'm hoping to see things like:

  • Other-MUD to WheelMUD area converters
  • Rulesets
  • Simple SMTP server for WheelMUD
  • Simple FTP server for WheelMUD

Back Home

By foxedup   119 Views  0 Comments

Just a quick announcement to let people know that the source code has been moved back to wheelmud.net away from Codeplex. They have a great system over there, but unfortunately they are geared to use TFS as their source control system rather than Subversion. They do provide some bridging software but it was causing us untold grief. We were spending a fair amount of time trying to debug why we couldn't commit changes when we should really have been writing WM code.

So we saw sense and have moved the repository back here.

Code is available at svn://svn.wheelmud.net/WheelMUDSharp/trunk

Development is moving along

By Fastalanasa   210 Views  0 Comments

Just wanted to let people know that the new WheelMUD code is moving along very well. There's a lot of activity over at the CodePlex site for WheelMUD. The rooms and mobs are now loading. There's a rudimentary mob AI as well. The infrastructure for remote administration is laid out, and ready for the next phase.

The only problem we seem to have is with CodePlex itself. We are using the SvnBridge application to connect with their source control using Subversion tools. I've had to patch SvnBridge several times in order to be able to do normal svn activities. It has been quite frustrating, but at least I have access to SvnBridge's code, so that I can patch it whenever something falls on its face.

All in all, I'm very pleased about where WheelMUD is headed.

Code will be hosted on CodePlex

By Fastalanasa   315 Views  0 Comments

I'm in the process of moving the code to be hosted on CodePlex. This way the code won't be hostage to my home connection. I'll post more details once the site at CodePlex gets published. The url will be http://www.codeplex.com/wheelmud

And yes, this means that we will start working on WheelMUD very soon.

Formatted Subversion check in feed

By Fastalanasa   462 Views  0 Comments

Foxedup has been kind enough (probably more like bored enough) to make a nice transform of the feed into a nice looking page. To see his artwork, please go here:

http://www.wheelmud.net/DevelopmentLog/tabid/62/Default.aspx

This is for those people that don't want to bother with a RSS reader. This is the same feed mentioned in the previous announcement.

RSS feed for our Subversion repository

By Fastalanasa   479 Views  0 Comments

We have a nice RSS feed that keeps track of each and every check in t hat is done into our Subversion repository. I find it very handy, as it lets me know who is working on what. Here's the link for you RSS readers:
